The Daniel Austin Brewer Professionalism Award

Each year at law commencement, an award is given to a graduating senior who best exemplifies attributes of professionalism that lawyers are expected to exhibit in practice. Governor Albert P. Brewer endowed the award several years ago and named it after his father, Daniel Austin Brewer. Nominations for this important award are received from law faculty, law staff and members of the graduating class.

The co-winners of the 2009 Daniel Austin Brewer Professionalism Award are Carin Brown (right) of Niceville, Florida and Larry Young (left) of Buford, Georgia.

Other students nominated for this year's award include: Rachel Berganske, Summer Davis, Jeffrey Doss, Andrew Knowlton, Lisha Li, Julie McMakin, Matthew Penfield, Andy Robinson, Mark Robinson, Shawnna Smith, Brian Spellen, and James Wright.
